linking display results in php

Okay I'm a new to php/mysql so forgive me if bringing up dreamweaver is a no no, but I'm making the break and trying to fill in the gaps.

In dreamweaver I can create a display page that lists some results from a database (for instance, name, country) and when the page is displayed name and country show up as links which when you click on the link you get further details.

I have no problem writing the php for a page that lists some of the results or all of them, what I have is figuring out how to link those results to something else.

Can anyone outline the code for this? Or perhaps there is a good tutorial you could suggest which I could go through?

okay say you have a link list like this

<a href="otherpage.php?country=a">country A</a>
<a href="otherpage.php?country=b">country B</a>
<a href="otherpage.php?country=c">country C</a>

on the receive page otherpage.php the value can be accessed by

$country=$_GET['country'];

now the country variable is populated and can be used in another sql statement

simple, eh?
