large PHP file upload(again)

i know the php.ini limits the size of a file you can upload. but i can't change the php.ini file. does anyone know a server/domain provider where you can definitely edit the php.ini file, or just upload files via a form that are bigger than 10-15mb?

Really need to find something as my client loves the admin i've done for uploading work examples for their clients, but they are a video production company so i have to get this working.

I can think of two things right now...

1) Cheap solution. Edit the .htaccess file to modify the php.ini settings for a specific folder (and subfolders)

2) Expensive solution. Get a dedicated server.

Could you not do :

ini_set('post_max_size', 1000M);

Which would set the max file size to 1 Gig ?

Yes, you could, but it wouldn't make much difference, since that piece of code would get executed AFTER the upload was sent to the server 😃

I have used ini_set before, it doesn't work anyway...
