html email cut off once received?? mail()

hi,

i'm quite stumped, does anyone have ideas??

i'm sending and html email using php's mail() function.
when it's received, it's a bit messed up;
every few lines of html code just seem to be suddenly cut off and ended with an exclaimation mark
here's a sample:
"<td valign=bottom !"

i cant find anything that the cut off lines have in common with each other

(it is only a 9KB email, so it's not so big)

any help appreciated...

Add line breaks. HTML mail gets truncated after a certain very long string of HTML with no line breaks.

i'm using "\r" as line breaks, is that not right, should i be using something else?

I use this.....

quite straight forward but good for text,html and attatchment emails....

got it sorted out...
it was obviously the line length of the actual HTML (not really a php issue hey?)

i did this to the longer variable values:
ereg_replace("\r","<br>\r\n",$nlmtext)

in the database the line breaks are stored as\r, in the page i wanted them to break both on the page and in the code so i replaced every instance of "\r" with "<br>\r\n"
