I want to transfer a file from one server to another via ftp

How does that work?

2 Linux machines (both remote)
Both red hat
Both require sftp to connect

ssh to one machine. sftp from that machine to the other. Do ftp like commands to transfer the necessary files.

What part won't work? Break it down.
1) Can you ssh into the first machine?
2) Can you open a sftp session to the other machine?
3) Can you get the file?

Whichever part you can't do, provide errors/details...
