The way I look at it is like this:
Operating systems are all the same- they all take time. RH makes you put the time into compiling/installing to insure a more stable system. Windows, on the other hand, makes the install quick but becomes so unstable that your time is spent in restarts and that yearly "clean up" time.
it's all about where you want to spend your time and what's important to you.
As for me, RH is the way to go.
