Apache Error?

Well people seem to have been attacking my site and all the information i've been givin is that they are exploiting a "vuln" error in apache. I also heard that their using cisco to run the exploit.. Has anyone heard anything about this, any patches?

How about some info?

1) Is this your server or is it hosted? Sadly, if it's hosted, there's probably nothing you can do except for change hosts.

2) If this is your server, how about giving us the Apache version? This could just be an out of date version, or has been upatched.

This server is not hosted by me, but I do know the person who owns it very well, so it can be updated..

search the board for "google" and you will see why people suggest it, we get some rediculously stupid questions not related to PHP or anything close to it, and people posting questions/problems (or even worse BITCHING because "it doesnt work" but never saying what "it" is or anything like that) but not giving any details as to what they are doing "Hey yah, I'm trying to get this hack to work on this script I wrote - I'm getting an error on line 91, can anyone help?" :rolleyes:

I do my fair share of helping, and when someone posts a problem/question that appears that havent searched on/read up on themselves, I will suggest SEARCHING before I attempt to help them

heaven forbid I try to make people atleast show they put effort into something and maybe help them learn something on their own :eek:

google will solve most questions within minutes instead of lamers posting here and waiting hours for an answer that can be solved in minutes on google or by just searching.
i post rarely here asking for help because I USE GOOGLE or search this forum, 99% of all questions i have have already been answered, u also learn more by SEARCHING.

did you try asking on the apache forum that had MOST of the google search results? That is where the patch was mentioned....

they should definately be able to answer the question

I totally agree with this statement. If your trying to learn something new, others can help you overcome your problems by telling you the answer, but you will only learn if you make a consorted effort to find the answer yourself.

I have to ask, what do you mean people are attacking your site, what are the details, who told you the exploit these eleged attackers are useing, do they KNOW the attackers, why not find the answers where the attackers learn there info from ie: search the internet for "exploit apache servers" or apache varn" if you want to run a server you should learn that main part of it, SECURITY, which is mainly accomplished by finding out this sort of info, if not shut the server down, until such time as you can protect it...

Its hard to install security on a server that I am not running, and just forget it. Most of you would rather bitch about helping than actually helping.
