say i had a few sentences, and between two of those sentences was a line break from pressing enter, like

if i assigned those sentences to a variable, $text, and wanted to replace the breaks with <br>, would preg_replace be a good way to go about doing so? i havent gotten around to learning regex yet, and im not sure if this is possible.
