Stripping PCL code

Has anyone got a script or regular expression for stripping PCL printer language from a text file? I have a large number of reporting files on a server and I'm writing a simple file browser so people don't have to print these files every time they want to view a small piece of information. The files contain PCL printer instructions like this :

E(0N&l1O&l8D&l5E&l66F(s16.66H

I was thinking that a regular expression may work, but there doesn't seem to be much structure to PCL that could be easily identified with a reg exp.

Any ideas??
