MySQL questions

MySQL 4.0.15 does not allow me to add new columns into a table which has Primary/Foreign Key relationships already defined. Is there a way to do it without dropping the keys?

What is the alternative for Store Procedures/Triggers functionalities which are lacking inside MYSQL?

Have you tried creating a new table with your extra columns? Then you can populate the new table with the data from the other table. Drop old table, rename new one to the old table.

What I do right now is drop the Primary and Foreign Key relationships, add new columns and rebuild those relationships. This seems faster than creating a new table with new columns and then populating and renaming it.

I want to know is there any better way of doing it into MySQL 4.0.15?
