php if & then question ..end?

If I have a "if and then" statement how do I get a rid of stuff after that...for example....

I have a form with text fields inside it ....above that I have the "if and then" statements to state if the internet user provided the right stuff.... well when i have it say SUCCESSFULL.....it still displays the form and text fields after that....I just want it to say SUCCESSFULL......do I use "end();" ??? or "else if" and how do I code that.

trial and error works great....

you can enclose the NOT TO DISPLAY code in an ELSE{} statement or just simply add exit; to the end of your if {} statement...
