Win XP:Setting MySQL's charset for greek characters

Hello!

I am trying to create dynamically xml files using php and retrieving data from MySQL, so as to load the xml data into flash. I realised that althought i was using utf-8 encoding in my xml file, flash was able to display the data(with greek characters) which where in in the php file but not those which where being retrieved from my MySQL database.

I checked the MySQL and saw in the variables that the charset is latin1. Do you know how i could change the MySQL's charset in Win XP.

I have seen in the manual this command:
./configure --with-charset=greek

but i think it is for linux. How can i use it in Win XP? I don't have dos prompt

Ok, i did it but it still does not work. This is the command

C:\mysql\bin\mysqld --default-character-set=greek

But i think that it will work with utf8. The problem is that there is not a utf8 charset in the directory. Do you know where i could find the utf8 charset file?

I searched the mysql site but found nothing

Please some help!
