Domain redirect and login problems

Hi there,

I've got this little problem with my new site:

My site runs on a seperate server than that of my domain name.

For example, suppose that I've got a site running at www.somesite.com/mysite/ and that I've got a domain name called www.myveryspecialsite.com that points through a frame redirect to www.somesite.com/mysite/

Now, the problem is that whenever I try to log in to my site (using cookies) I find myself logged out again whenever I'm asking for a new page. I know that the cookies are not properly set, but I don't know what to do about it. Please help! 🙂

I think you will find your problem is that cookies are domain dependant - ie a cookie set in one domain is not visable or editable from another domain.

To set the logon cookie on the other domain you would probably have to pass a confirmation variable in the URL from one domain to the other, possibly an encrypted value based on the username/password.
