Gregorian Time Stamp and possibilities...

What function does php use to get make the gregorian current timestamp...?

e.g. 106789345 (or something)

And .. what function can you use to present this back as 10th January 2003 for example.

Also ... sorry folks...

Is this measured in seconds?

So i can search from a database where xxx is less than a month worth of seconds?

I hope that makes sense I have an awful hangover from boozing far too much in London last night.

the php timestamp time() returns the number of seconds passed since jan. 1st 1970. so yes, you can also easily search like you asked.
