Stripping the URL...

Hi.

I was wondering it it's possible to strip the url from characters like ? and = and & etc...

The thing is that I usually send data through the url so I have something like index.php?s=87fujnfsdf3n&act=delete... but the person I'm making a site right now wants a clean url... sth like
index.php/stuff/stuff2

I guess there is a function like mod_write but I don't really know what that is...

So some help, please?

Use $POST rather than $GET?

What you need is all stored within the $_SERVER predefined variable.

$_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'] will get the host name

$_SERVER['PHP_SELF'] will get the name of the file location

Sorry I only read the first line properly and hence thought you were wanting the url etc of the page.

Yes sounds like you need to use post. ie if it is a form then to use the method post as opposed to get. However it isn't always the case that the data is coming from a form and hence if this is the case then you might want to think about using cookies/sessions in order to store the required data between pages.
