Ok thanks stolz, ive got win98 installed again. but my moitor remains at 16bit and a HUGE resolution. i like my screen small! at least 800x600.

Its a panasonic TX-d1734 (or at least thats what it has on the back under model no.) but i cant find drivers for it anyweher.

where is a good place to download drivers?

You wont need to install any drivers for your monitor but you might require them for your graphics card (depending on what it is). It might just work with the default windows driver (certainly at 800600). Now from my memory of 98: you need to load up control panel (Start -> Control Panel). Load up Display. Tab through until you find the relivent page containing the resolution of the monitor settings. Set it to 800600 and select to test the resolution. All being well click to keep the resolution.
