In need of help with arrays

Hello,

I have two different arrays. Each array contains a series of numbers (1, 2, 3, 9, 7 ...etc).

How can I compare these two arrays and keep ONLY the numbers that are present in both arrays?

Furthermore, I was wondering if anyone could help me to make sure that the new array (derived from the above comparision) contains only distinct numbers (so, in other words, I don't want the array to be something like "2, 2, 3, 7, 7, 7, 7, 9". Instead I would like the array to consist of "2, 3, 7, 9".)

Sorry. You're right. My mistake.

My first post contained an error. What I should have asked (and this doesn't appear to be in the manual) is "How do you compare a group of arrays and return only the variables that appear in all of the arrays?".

The function array_intersect only works for compairing 2 arrays.

I realise that I can overcome this problem by repeating the process over and over again until I end up with just one array, but I was just wondering if there was a more efficient method.

Cycling through, comparing as you go would appear to be your only option.
