Regexp problem

Ok what I'm doing is sorting through a comma delimited file. Everything works fine except for one hitch. When I hit a double ",," it messes up badly. For example here are two lines from the file.

4326,"ellanddodgers",3,15.003
4329,"soloo",,18.761

and here is my regexp.

     while ($userinfo = fscanf ($handle, "%[^\,],\"%[^\"\,]\",%[^\,],%[^\n]\n")){

The first line will parse correctly, but nothing after "soloo" would be parsed from the second line. Any suggestions on my regexp?

But as it seems that you miss an entry after "soloo"...

Therefore the idaea I have is to have find if there is also an blank space between second and third comma...

Like I said: not sure if this even works but it seems like that is the way to go...

Something like:
while ($userinfo = fscanf ($handle, "%[^{,],\"%[\",]\",%[[]+,],%[\n]\n")){}

Or, maybe since everything is comma delimited, use an explode?

$lines = explode("\n",$handle);
// Now $lines has an array full of usernames
while ($line = each ($lines) ) {
    $userinfo = explode(',', $line);
    // Do whatever other stuff you wanted here
}
