Need advise on using PHP with IIS 5

Please forgive me but I am completely ignorant on PHP.

I have several web hosting clients on my own Win2k servers and until now I have done ok for six years with basic features, FrontPage, dreamweaver, some ASP, etc. I now have some clients requesting PHP, CGI, and MySQL and I am completely in over my head. I need to be able to add these features and be able to address problems with them as they come up but I don't know where to start. I thought PHP was one area that I would tackle first and move on from there.

Does anyone have some advise on where to start?

I hope you have already checked out www.php.net for the download of php for windows.

It is pretty simple to install and should work 'straight out of the box'.

Also look at www.mysql.com for the same reason.

www.perl.com if you really have to install perl.

wouldnt bother with perl, i'd tell the dimwit who wants perl to wake up and enter the real world that consists of only php.

I have checked out php.net but I was not sure exactly what I am doing and since I will be testing this on a production server I wanted to get some advice of what to download. I don't use apache. I use IIS and was worried about conflicts and problems. As for Perl I need to find a way to allow some cgi but I don't know much about it so I need to make sure I keep some control so that I don't get users that are out of control.

With MySQL I saw that there are some that have compiled everything together in one install. Is that a decent option to explore? What are the problems with this?
