in a corporate intranet is it possible if I know a user is logged in and know there IP address to send a page to them?

example a change is made on a page that they need to know about and they are loggen in to the site can I pop a window or simply send there browser to a different page?

I didn't know if its possible to do this like you describe, but maybe that this is an idea to handle your problem:

Put all IP's in a file and if a user with one of this IP's have logged in he get this pop up with the new message. After the message is given, set a cookie to the client that he didn't get the message twice.

Of course there have to be something to check the IP's in the file but I think you can handle small functions like this...

If you were to do all the web stuff in front page, then you could set up a user db type thing in that to do what you want. It will tell them if anything has been changed, updated, or if they need to change or update something themselves.

Do they use a proxy? If so, you're going to have trouble getting the IP
