I am working on re-writting a website I maintain to use PHP and Mysql in certain spots to allow for my dynamic content and easier updating for the html illiterate.
I have updated some pages to use the database for its content and have noticed a increased delay in the time it takes for the page to load.
Is this something that I should expect if I continue to use the PHP/MYSQL combination? Is this something that can be handled by correct page-cashe controls? The pages that I have moved to the 'production' directory should be reachable at http://www.isaartrailriders.com/. The pages that are considered under development are located at http://www.isaartrailriders.com/dev/.
