Kill record on DATE

IS there a way to get MySQL to automatically delete a record on a specific date, or X amount of days after the DATE/TIME coloumn?

If not, how would you go about doing this? Somekind of software that runs everyday and kills the records exiring on that day?

I have access to the root of the server, so setting up new programmes isn't a problem.

Just set up a cron job for it

sorry, should have said, the server is a Windows machine (yeah, I know, but what can you do?)

Create a batch file to run the php script. Setup the batch file in the Windows Task Scheduler
