File gets bigger everytime if write...

I cant give no code (its a secret project), but im hoping there is a simple answer like, because im using Windows XP or something,
ok heres my problem:

I have a file called file1.php, file1.php create a file called file2.php, file2.php deletes file1.php and makes a new (modified) file1.php,

everytime i make this happen, is increases file1.php's size by 2kb, but it doesn't look like there is any extra characters/tabs in the file, i dont see how it could increase (btw the script works fine)

Do not worry, i was recently told that when windows saves a file , instead of only putting "\n" it put "\n\r", and everytime i reloaded the file, for every "\n" it added another "\r", therefor i i ran a program that found how many \n\r there was, and there was strings like: \n\r\r\r\r\r\r, which was causing my script to get much bigger.

anyway, everytime i write my main file, i replace \r with nothing (str_replace("\r","",$file)😉, and now i have no problems, Thanks for all your help.
