I am a reasonably qualified scripter, who is familiar with php and MySQL, and have no trouble putting together a shopping cart with session variables, or just a database. I have never scripted anything that requires accepting credit cards. I am completely in the dark.
I am not asking simply for the code here. I really have no idea how the process works. Do I just contact VeriSign, or whomever, and tell them I want to accept credit cards, and pay them?
I'm a coder, but not a merchant. How does this whole thing work?
