sending mainframe friendly php mail???

Hi all,

I have a problem in which im sure i'm the first one to ask on phpbuilder. I created a customer service page wherein the user could enter comments on product defects and so on, once the user clicks submit an email is sent with all the form data to an inbox. Everything works fine.

Now here's the problem, if our OS/400 guy gets the email via mainframe, and it's coming from overseas countries, it sometimes contains all these weird characters. Whenever a carriage return occurs, before it goes to the next line a equal sign is appended right before the word wrap.

I would apreciate any help on how to tackle this.

Is this, possibly, two seperate but related issues? The equals sign issue sounds like a MIME type or charset thing ....

Though related, the other one sounds more difficult --- detecting and decoding international character sets.
