ive been searching some here , but i havent found any tutorials, what would teach me to display Guests OS when he comes to my site . Any ideas ? Links ? Or have some sample codes?
probably the closest you are gonna get with PHP is
$_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT']
doesn't that one just show the users Web Browser?
straight from www.php.net
Contents of the User_Agent: header from the current request, if there is one. This is a string denoting the user agent being which is accessing the page. A typical example is: Mozilla/4.5 [en] (X11; U; Linux 2.2.9 i586). Among other things, you can use this value with get_browser() to tailor your page's output to the capabilities of the user agent.
its sensible, any examples or smth availible around too ?
Example on what?
if you do
<? echo $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT']; ?>
that will give you that information, do with it what you will...
hehe , well i had brains for that one, but a little advanced, with filters and stuff :/
didn't say you didn't have brains, but you didn't say what kind of examples...
visit the manual, there is a plethora of information and examples there, but most likely you'll have to look into regular expressions, etc...
okay, thanks a lot , i got the main point, now i need to find some examples with user agent 🙂
