Searching

Hi
I have just started to implement a search function into my website. We offer maps for games, and the search, when it is finished should allow to user to search for a word in a certain fields. I have the basic search setup, but need to know if it is possible to use wildcards in searchs. And if so, how?

you can use fulltext search - just go to mysql.org and search the documentation for that...

for *, ? wildcards
%, _ are what MySQL uses for repective uses

also see docs on mysql.com the on keyword LIKE , since you will need to use that for wildcard searches
