Getting Data From A Database..

I'm nowhere near being an expert at php and databases, so i need help..

Heres my situation:

I have in my table, userid which is from 1 to x, x being the number of entrys. then i have name which is the entry.

I need to find the number of entrys and display each of them on the page.

database table:

userid name
1 blablablaName1
2 blablablaName2
3 blablablaName3

ect. ect. ect.

So then it will show each blablablaName....

I hope that makes scense.. just ask for more info, and i'll try my best to explain more...

db_connect()  //whatever your db connect stuff is
echo ("<u>userid</u>&nbsp;<u>name</u><br>");
$result=mysql_query("SELECT * FROM users", $link_id);  //Selects all entries from table users
   while($query_data = mysql_fetch_row($result))  //Selects the first row of returned results
   {
echo ("$query_data[0]&nbsp;$query_data[1] <br>");
  }

Im getting errors!!

Notice: Undefined variable: link_id on line 9

It says undefined variable $link_id, well what do i set it as? sry im such a n00b :o please help...

You're not connected. $link_id should be your connection string, like

$link_id = mysql_connect("user", "pass", "server");
