Image resize

Is there any way I can resize the image proportionatly before I upload on to the server. Till now what I am doing is, uploading the file as it is and forcefully resize the image in the html img tag using height and width attribute.

ok, u didnt mention that. i do it all the time before i upload image to server, i resize in photoshop.
dunno, never done what u want to do.

Actually I am building a model portfolio site where models will upload there own picture. This is a dynamic module. I can control the byte size and extionsion of the images they upload. but I cannot control the dimension of that image.

If anyone can help in this regard

Its not too hard. Look at the image functions section of the php manual : http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.image.php

I have some code at home that does this. If you don't have an anwer when I get home I'll try and remember to post it.
