emails bouncing

I have a problem, any emails sent out by apache are bounced unless they are to local addresses. The mail log says the error from the other end is "Needs Fully Qualified Domain Name" I have looked in both Postix and Apache and I see nothing that looks amiss, I have the sendmail path in php.ini,

When the mail is sent, the other machine sees it as coming from <apache>, that's why the bounces, but where do I tell this sucker to be [e-mail]???

I am using Mandrake 9.0, Apache 1.3 and Postfix 1.11

Any ideas would be appreciated.
