last option selected?

Is there a way of remembering the last item selected in a select - option dropdown. So when the page is submitted the option has a selected added to it.

yes--you can do that pretty easily. Pass the value from the dropdown into the page (with the drop down). As you build each option, check to see if the value you passed in is the same as the value of the option. If it is, then add selected to the option.
