Also where can I add a link within the header to go to my homepage?

I'd say just replace the picture file. Or change the img src to the new picture.
ok if i was to do that which folder would i put the picture in and would i just call the pic the same as the other one?

Uhm....sure. I don't know your setup. You want to just replace the old one, then overwrite the old one. As far as the link, just put anchor tags around the img tag
