How do forums such as Invision Power Board keep their users logged in? Cookies? manipulation of php.ini file using ini_set()?
Cookies. Some forums also append a "session id" to links that act as a a sort of cookie.
I'm sure there's several tutorials all over that explain how to do it. Or you can download a forum that uses sessions and take a look at the code.
