a simple login

Hi,

i have a small admin part for my web site and i would like to protect pages within my admin folder.
Since i cannot set folder permissions i want to do it with php.

right now i have one login page with username&pass fields which i pass to another which checks if they are correct and if they are, it displays menu.

BUT, if somenone would type the url of any other page in that folder he could see it.

So, the question is: what are the simplest way for authorization, with or without databe usage which would make impossible for somene to just type the url and seee the page?

Try sessions. There's plenty of ready made scripts for authorisation. Have a look at hotscripts or this site

you could use PHP_AUTH_USER & PHP_AUTH_PW

simply have a script an include it into the pages you want protected

have it at the top of the page, and if the variables dont exists then kill the script using die() and print something like "please login"

i didn't mention that i run php on IIS, i have read later that there are some troubles with PHP_AUTH with it.
