file locations on win32

I have just recently upgraded from php 4.3.3 to 4.3.4 and was wondering if there is an easier way of upgrading on windows. I'm sure I read somewhere that you could put php4ts.dll and php.ini in somewhere other than the WINNT folder.

Anyone heard of such installation on windows?

In answering my own question, I have found that you don't need to put anything in the WINNT or system folders. I placed the php.ini in c:\php folder, where php exists. In addition I moved php4ts.dll to the bin folder for apache. All seems to be fine.

The system being used is windows 2000, apache 2.0.47 and PHP 4.3.4.
