[RESOLVED] update / insert / both? syntax?!?!?

I did some searching through the forumn and fouind nothing

I'm having a major barin fart here

you have insert into tablename... and update tablename set value=....

I know theres syntax that will either insert or update depending on whether or not values are present - i just can't freaking remember what it is

Anyone know?
