Passing data from PHP to PHP using <a href>

Good day folks,

curious.I have a page that is generated in PHP and as it populates it creates links to other PHP pages.

Now, the question is, how do i pass data to the NEW PHP page from the old PHP page without using a SUBMIT button.

Probably a very simple question, but i can't seem to find a resolution as of yet.

Any thoughts?

oh i forgot while its var1 in the hyperlink in other.php it will be $var1

looks good, tried it and i see it now.

BUT..i guess I should have added it into the question.

how do i read that vriable/

You have to have global variables on in that situation.

I'm not sure I understand.

I am only passing 1 variable..so i do just do

print($var1);

and thats it?

I wasn't passing a variable name, just the variable.

Any way to make this a little more secure?

Encryption works.

To make it more 'secure' you can check variable types / for valid variable values when your script recieves the data.

Also, you should be using $_GET['varname'] and not just $varname. Go read up on Predefined Variables in the PHP manual, and read the newbies stickies on the forum about this topic.
