mod_rewrite and case sensitive

I need a rewrite rule to change 'JPG' for 'jpg' at the end of an URL.

I have around 5000 photos in my site and there were few old ones that had uppercase extension.
I've changed all of them to lowercase but there are other sites (I don't know who they are) having old links like mydomain.com/photo.JPG.
I want to redirect them to the same but in lowercase.
I´ve been trying with some things like
RewriteRule ^JPG$ jpg [L]
but no luck
