does this code lookcorrect???

this code work the first time eg. http://mypersonalwebsite.com/house.php?&order=price&nav=simsub&price=400000&suburb=ANSTEAD

it pulles in the correct information but if you change the suburb

http://mypersonalwebsite.com/house.php?&order=price&nav=simsub&price=400000&suburb=BELLBOWRIE

it dosent work. seems to only remember the first url.

any ideas.

try something like that... to my knowledge set $var = 1 OR 2 OR 3 does not nor ever did work.... no reason to do all those if checks, for an error, just check to see if your rows returned was 0, then trigger an error

but its not an error thats being reported.

see i need to select many records from my database with sorrounding suburbs. so when a single suburb is returened. eg. ANSTEAD or 'BELLBOWRIE'

it writes the select statment and adds the sourounding suburbs.

thats why i have the if and elseif satetment they build part of the select statement. then when its finished the select statement just calles the set variable ("$set_1")within the correct if statement.

does that make it clearer.

ahhh I missed a set of quotes around those variables being set, my bad

I would suggest adding an "area" column to your database, and setting the SURROUNDING areas to have the same AREA value, then SELECT * from database WHERE area = $area

would eliminate the need for sloppy logic statments like that
