[Resolved] Viewing log files in PHP

Lets say I want to view the log file for snort in a certain directory
eg /var/log/snort - the log file is in here.
How can I do this through PHP 4?
Hope you can give me an example.

I am using this code to read.
The text file contains:
This is a test file located at
/root/UMThesis/p0f2003/p0f

<?php
$file = "/root/UMThesis/p0f2003/p0f/test.txt";
if(file_exists($file) && is_readable($file)) {
$content = file_get_contents($file);
echo $content;
}

But it does not return the contents of the file

I managed to use the code you gave to get the contents of the file.However, it is all jumbled up meaning that it does not follow the original format and keeps filling out the space .
eg
Original
1)xxxxx
2)xxxx
3)xxxx
.......

Grabbed from PHP
1)xxxxxxx 2)xxxxxx 3)xxxxx .......

Is there a way to preserve the original format of the file even though it was grabbed from PHP?
The displayed grabbed file should be in the original format.

It probably did retain the original format. Look at the HTML source being rendered by the browser.
