[Resolved] [Resolved] Getting variables from a USEMAP link

Can someone please tell me how to get the following url, which is from an image using ISMAP...

Map.php?x=531000&y=178500?86,93

into the following variables:

$x = 531000
$y = 178500
$a = 86
$b = 93

Basically what I am asking is how to get the 2 figures on the end of the URL into varaibles that I can use for calculation within my php script.

Thanks for the prompt response, but it dosent seem to work.

That just prints the <br>, not the variables. There are actually 2 question marks ? in the url, one after the script name and another before the ISMAP coordinates.

Any ideas?

Actually this looks a little tidier.

there should be backslashes before each of the d s in the regex but phpbb seems to have stripped them out.

Can't figure it out! I don't know if it has anything to do with th $_GET , I am not submitting a form...

$_GET pulls from the url.
If you add the \ before each d then it will work I've tested it on my machine.

Still get no output, could it be a php version issue? Literally all there is on my page is the above code, nothing else at all...

I did add \ before each d, this forum stripped them out.

sorry you need to escape the middle ? as well, like so
preg_match('/^{(\d?)\?(\d?),(\d*?)$/',} $_GET['y'], $matches);

Also try putting a print_r($_GET); near the top of the page and see what it outputs;

Well nothing is getting into the $_GET array in the first place. What is the url you are calling the page with? What version of php do you have?

I'm almost stumped. There is just one more thing I can think of but it shouldn't make any difference at all.
try using $HTTP_GET_VARS instead of $_GET

Well, it did! Thats got it.

I am running this on a shared server, maybe php hasn't been set up properly...
