Sleepycat's database is basically a non-sql hash style database on massive steroids. The guy who goes to the forums and such seems a pretty nice guy, and got along ok with the Postgresql guys, since they pretty much occupy different problem/solution spaces.

Well, BerkelyDB (and hence SleepyCat) actually shares common code ancestry with PostgreSQL.
