[Resolved] paginating and data sorting

I have a main menu full of information which is paginated 20 records per page. I'm trying to make the query so that the user can sort the data by links located at the top of the page.

"What's My Problem?" - It works, when I select the link it sorts by whatever I have selected as I want but...

The Problem - It only sorts one page and doesn't continue on, when I click page two the values are reset. This is a new operation to me so if anyone could offer a suggestion I'd appreciate it.

The Question - How do I sort paginated data and make it so the data stays sorted throughout the 20 or so pages?

Having now had a look through your code, where do you assign a value to the $Per_Page variable? Did I miss it?

$Per_Page is located in my config.php file because I have a couple other scritps that use that variable.

I read the above tutorial and all that has been accomplished in the uploaded code. What I need is to know how to retain sorted values through the paginated script.

It appears that this tutorial only tells me what I have already. But thank's for the knowledge at any rate, now I understand the process a little better.

Some things I've tried have been as follows...

This script should work. It sounds like it's not getting the updated offset ($Result_Set). If you just print the $Result_Set to the browser what do you get?

$Result_Set = $_GET[Result_Set];

if (empty($Result_Set)
{
$Result_Set=0;
}


print $Result_Set;

Is it what it should be for each page, or always 0??

and I changed the link $var from ordertype to sortby.
