spliting entries

Hi! I have a numerical database entry IE "25" and wish to split it into 2 and 5. so

$num1 = "2";
$num2 = "5";

I know the query, I just wanna know how to split a variable into its numbers.

Also...

Say I have a number like 43276534. How do I get it to so I can take "25" out of that string of numbers...

Is there any sort of logic to this? Like are you trying to just pull the 3rd and 6th number or something?

To split the numbers up, you could use strlen and substr....

Hrmm....okay....if you can't explain the logic, all I can really suggest is to use substr
