Getting large .sql into PhpMyAdmin

Hello. I have a 13meg dbname.sql file which was exported from phpmyadmin. I now need to import this file into a different database using phpmyadmin.

I can do this by browsing for the file and clicking go. The problem is the file is so big that it times out before it can upload and insert it.

How do I get this file in MySQL? I have tried breaking it down into smaller parts but it is taking forever. And I may have to do this many times.

Is there any way to do this faster?

try mysqlimport
Or at the command line do:
mysql database < backup-file.sql

This DB is on a remote server. How do I access the command line?

Well, you could probably SSH or Telnet to it....

Otherwise, you could probably also write a script and use exec() to do this.

You can use mysql on one server to access the DB on another server.

Thanks guys but I have no idea what "SSH or Telnet" is or how to use this line

-hOtherserv.com = the path to the other site?

-uUsername -pPassword= the username& pass of the old DB or new?

DB_NAME < file.sql = the new dbname or the old? file.sql = what? The path to the fiel on the old server, or on my local hard drive or what?

Do I run this on the old server or the one I am transfering the db to?

Which directory should this file be located?

Any other details a newb should be aware of to get this to work?

If you have this file and script in a dir on either of your hosts it will work.
Just point your browser to the little script and it should transfer the sql to the server.
To recap
dammbig.sql and little.php should be in the same dir.
point browser to little.php and dammbig.sql will be installed onto the DB you specify.
This will work on unix servers, you may need to specify a path on a windoze server.
If it doesn't work on a *nix server you may need to specify a path to the mysql prog. ( normally /usr/local/bin/mysql )
