Can someone explain to me why this thread has been closed and how a moderator can be allowed to accuse someone of 'theft' with no evidence whatsoever?

This really is not good moderating and reflects VERY poorly on this site.

I feel an explanation/apology is due.

jayant closed your thread because the last code you posted appears to be taking data from someone's Website. Without proper permission this can be illegal in which would be stealing. jayant did close it kind of quick without asking if you did have permission, I think. If you do have permission or if it's your Website PM jayant and see if they'll reopen the thread.

FYI sites like Google have permission for doing that, and sites like Yahoo pay those sites for allowing them to do that. You didn't any have anything of these two.
Being a kid is better than an adult w/ no brains, voilating laws including but not limited to copyright infringement, plaigiarism, intellectual property violation etc.

and needless to say PHPBuilder does not, will not, cannot encourage such illegal activity

And of course the difference between an automated web spider indexing broad tracts of the Internet and a script devoted to pulling certain information off a certain page owned by someone else should not be underestimated.

although probably irrelevant... i wrote a script to pull a bunch of porn from free porn sites. Probably illegal, but very efficient. Of course, I wouldn't ask anyone for help with it, and I won't be giving the code to anyone... probably.
