Need help with $_SERVER['REMOTE_USER'] on windows.

Hi everyone,

Could anyone pls help me how to remove windows domain information with slashes that is associated with windows login id?

$userloginid=$_SERVER['REMOTE_USER'];

if i echo this "$userloginid", the output is something like "mydomain\mywinloginid"

I need to get only the "mywinloginid" to insert into the db.

How can i extract only the ID?

I'd appreciate if someone could enlighten me. Thanks everyone.

Two ways of doing this:

// Get domain and user via explode
list($userlogindomain, $userloginid) = explode('/', $_SERVER['REMOTE_USER']);

// Or just get the sub string
$userloginid = substr($_SERVER['REMOTE_USER'], strpos($_SERVER['REMOTE_USER'], '/'));

Switch the forward slashes to back slashes. I couldn't get backslahs's to show up right here.
