date reformat

i know how to reformat dates and i know about the date function php.net

my question is, is their a way to format a date from Monday, November 17, 2003 to date('D, j M Y G:i:s T')

i tried date('D, j M Y G:i:s T', 'Monday, November 17, 2003' )

but i just get the 1969 date you get when you arent putting something in correctly

Kinda hard to format a time out of a date. You'll always get 0:00:00, but I guess you could use

$dt ="Monday, November 17, 2003";
$new = date("D, j M Y G:i:s T", strtotime($dt));
echo $new;
?>
