what is the best dataytpe to store description?

I am making this form that ask for a description of a business. the business can store letters and numbers..

i.e., store hours, description of business, etc.

what is the best datatype that I can use for such?
I was reading about BLOB, but what is your recommendation?

use text for text and blob for binary
