convert a php generated calendar to an image

Hi all,
I'm new to php,
I have a problem. I have a requirement like this,
i have a calendar that is generated by php called cal.php,
Now the generated cal should be converted into an image & then shown to a user.
The cal has also got hyperlinks to the dates (for some reason).
Is this possible?

You just made your life more complicated. I just need to know why do you heed to convert the calendar generated by php to an image. It is possible and you can use imagemaps to link areas of the image to any URL
