Upload image to database

Ok, I have been completely through this forum and I still can't figure it out.. I have a webpage in which I want my registered user to be able to upload his vehicles image. My database is called: membersrigs and the only column in here I have for an image is called: Vehicle Image (blob).

How can I upload this image to a folder on my site as well as having the link to the image recorded to this column in my table?

I believe, if I can do this, then there is a way to echo out the image using the link in the table? Is this Correct?

I know I'm probably really asking for alot, but if someone has a script or can help me in anyway make this work, I would really appreciate the support. It's the last thing I'm stuck on with this project.

I'm still a newbie, so please help me...

search forums on image uploading.

You don't want to store the image in your database...you really want to store the address to the image.

For example, I save an uploaded file to a directory called images.

In my database I have a table with a column called 'image_address'

I store '/images/filename.jpg' in a row of that table.

Later I retrieve that info in a query, placing it in a variable called $image_address.

Then

echo "<img src=$image_address>"

yes, this is exactly what I want to do, and I have searched the forums forward and backward with no understanding of this concept. I would appreciate anyone's help if they can at least point me in the right direction.
